What mediums do I like to use?
A lot of my paintings are in soft pastel, my medium of choice due to the pure vibrancy of the colours. The soft texture creates a smooth transition between colours creating rich velvety layers idea for nature and wildlife.
This medium allows me to layer colour through strokes of overlapping pigment and it’s easy to take outdoors so I can capture the atmosphere and light of the landscape. Soft pastel is not fixed as it changes the colour , so always needs framing with a mat and glass. Famous soft pastel artists include Renoir and Degas, two of my favourites.
I also paint using Watercolour which is a very different experience to the pastels and gives a completely different feel to the paintings.
I like the fluidity and unpredictability using a ‘wet in wet’ approach (where you wet the thick paper so the paint can spread and move easily) for land and seascapes and if it works well, produces paintings that have a luminosity about them. I mainly use them for more abstract impressionistic paintings where there is a strong atmosphere and ethereal feeling. Of course, Turner was the master with atmosphere!
I occasionally paint with acrylics, being careful, of course, with environment due to microplastics.
In my current gallery my favourite hare ‘The Magician’ is my only exhibit… but how could I leave him out!
You’ll see a few paintings have combined painting with collage, very unique and they provide a different viewing experience.
However they can only be available as original paintings due to the different textures and in some case enhanced by silver and gold.

Each limited-edition signed print is created from my original painting, professionally developed by my local printing specialist Artyfax Print in Cromer. I ensure they reflect a true representation of the original.
I specify Archival giclee printing on heavy paper to ensure longevity using a high resolution 12 colour printer, so all colours are perfectly reproduced.
They are available in several sizes xxxxx on either Archival Paper or Canvas and due to the intensity of the soft pastel, colour vibrancy and detail are not lost if you want a large print. Every print is individually supervised by me to your exact specifications. I’m happy to suggest some good frame options, or you can choose to get it framed by me.
